"2011 Schedule of Events"

May 13th, 2011, Friday:

  • Early bird set up in morning. Classic Boats on Mississippi all day.
  • Antique/Classic Wood, Fiberglass, Aluminum, Boat and Canoe show and shine.
  • Antique, Street Rods, British/English, Corvettes, Muscle Car, motorcycles, antique tractor show and shine in Park.
    Registration at Riverview Center.
  • Hovercraft National Gathering with hovercrafts on Mississippi.
  • Early bird boat ride to the Light House in Fairport for lunch.
  • Participant Informal boat ride through Lock and Dam #16. 2:00 pm.
  • Muscatine Power Boat Club Hog Roast for the Boat Show Participants. Only place on Mississippi River where
    the river runs east to west and the sunsets are beautiful!
  • APBA Drivers and Official Meeting 7:00 pm Pearl City Station
  • Participant Cocktail Cruse on Pearl Button Excursion Boat 8:00 pm
  • Bands at downtown establishments

May 14th, 2011, Saturday:

  • Registration starting at 6:00 am at Riverview Center.
  • APBA Test and Vintage Hydroplanes Session #1 on Mississippi 8:00 - 12:00 pm. Ken Warby, "World Fastest Man
    on Water" from Australia and many others will be in attendance. All drivers will be available for pictures
    and autographs between APBA sessions 1 and 2.
  • Radio Control Boats, Cars, and Airplanes at Steam Boat landing all day.
  • Race Car Displays
  • National Hovercraft Gathering. Bob Windt, the Father of the Hovercraft and World Speed Record Holder for Fastest
    Hovercraft will be in attendance, along with World Champion Hovercraft Racers for pictures and autographs.
  • Antique/Classic Wood, Fiberglass, Aluminum, Boat and Canoe show and shine. 8:00am - 8:00pm.
  • Antique, Street Rods, British/English, Corvettes, Muscle Car, motorcycles, antique tractor show and shine in
    Park. 8:00am - 8:00pm. Show cars will have access to leave after 3:00 pm from the park show and shine area.
  • Swap meet 8:00am - 8:00pm.
  • Participant Informal boat ride through Lock and Dam #16. 9:00 am
  • 2nd Annual Gutter Boat Nationals Racing beginning at 10:00 am ( Area just west of Riverview Center ) Everyone
    welcome to make a boat and participate.
  • 1st Session of 5th Annual Mississippi Cardboard & Paddle Boat Regatta 12:00pm ( Steamboat Landing ). Register
    at www.muscatineboatshow.com "Registration" tab. Attempt at breaking record for World's Largest Cardboard Boat.
  • "Classics Cruz'n the River" Classic Boats on the river and recognition of boats for the crowd
    from 12:00 - 4:00 pm. Every type of your favorite boats of the past will be on the river for your camera opportunities.
  • Hovercrafts on Mississippi

May 15th, 2011, Sunday:

  • APBA Test and Vintage Hydroplane Session #3 on Mississippi 8:00am - 2:00 pm.
  • Antique/Classic Wood, Fiberglass, Aluminum, Boat and Canoe show and shine. 8:00am - 2:00pm.
  • Swap meet 8:00am - 2:00pm.( North of boat ramp )
  • Vendor displays in park.
  • Event Concludes and Park Secured at 3:00pm.
  • Hovercrafts on Mississippi
